YOUTH BASEBALL

Registration: Mar 1st - Mar 31st

Late Registration: After Mar 31st (Late Fee)

Youth baseball and softball leagues emphasize proper mechanics and execution of the fundamental skills of catching a thrown ball, executing an overhand throw, fielding ground balls and fly balls, basic pitching, catching, hitting and base running technique. Sportsmanship is emphasized for all players, parents, and coaches. All participants need to provide their own gloves and batting helmets. Jerseys and Hats will be provided.

Beginner Ball: May 29 – June 26

This is for 3 to 5 year old’s that have never played baseball or organized sports. This level teaches focus and hand eye coordination. No games are associated with this level as practice is essential to ensure advancement to Tee Ball. Some of the same aspects of Tee Ball are implemented but it’s not the primary goal, as the safety of the kids is essential. It is highly recommended due to developmental aspects, that participants participate in the Beginner Ball program for at least 1 year.

For boys or girls ages 3 to 5 years old.

Tee Ball: May 28 – July 11

Players hit off of a Tee and are introduced to the basic fundamentals of hitting a ball off a tee, fielding ground balls, throwing with correct form, and understanding the most basic rules of baseball. There will be one 2-inning game each week. Batters will hit off of a tee until they hit the ball in play. Every player will play the field and bat each inning. Depending on age and skill, 2 years in this division is recommended.

For boys or girls age 5 to COMPLETION of Kindergarten in May 2024.

Game Night: Wednesdays or Thursdays @ 5:15-5:45pm

Practice: Tue & Thu @ 8:15 – 9:00am

Fee: $38

1st & 2nd Grade (U8): May 28 – July 11

Basic fundamentals of baseball utilizing an adult coach to pitch to players. 5 good pitches per batter. All players bat. No leading off or stealing of bases allowed. 5 run-rule is in effect for all innings. Coaches can umpire while pitching. No additional umps needed. 1:00 time limit. Game can end in a tie unless coaches agree to continue.

For boys who have COMPLETED 1st & 2nd grade in May 2024.

Game Night: Wednesdays @ 6:00pm

Practice: Mon – Thu @ 9:00am – 10:00am

Fee: $75

3rd & 4th Grade (U10): May 28 – July 11

Introduction into the complete game. Players may pitch two innings per game. No leading off. Stealing is allowed; however, home plate is closed on passed balls and steal attempts. 5 run-rule is in effect for all innings. 1 umpire is required. 1:15 time limit per game. Game can end in a tie unless coaches agree to continue.

For boys who have COMPLETED 3rd & 4th grade in May 2024.

Game Night: Thursdays @ 6:00pm

Practice: Mon - Thu @ 10:00am – 11:30am

Fee: $75

5th & 6th Grade (U12): May 28 – July 11

Introduction into the full game with no restrictions on stealing. Players may pitch three innings per game. No leading off. Stealing is allowed and home plate is open to steal on passed balls and steal attempts. 5 run-rule is in effect with the exception of the final inning. 1 umpire is required. 1:30 time limit per game. Game can end in a tie unless coaches agree to continue.

For boys who have COMPLETED 5th & 6th grade in May 2024. Some 7th Graders may be eligible by age to play in this division.

Game Night: Thursdays @ 6:00pm

Practice: Mon – Thu @ 11:30am – 1:00pm

Fee: $75

YOUTH GOLF

Lessons introduce the game of golf to young people in the Milbank area community and teach participants the fundamentals of golf and to emphasize golf’s unique ability to instill and develop essential values such as honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, self-discipline and respect. Golf clubs will be provided if the participant does not have their own.

Location: Whetstone Creek Golf Course

7 – 8 Year Old’s

9 – 11 Year Old’s

YOUTH TENNIS

Registration: Mar 1st - Mar 31st

Lessons are designed for all ages and levels of abilities. Level 1 is recommended for K-2nd graders or youth that are brand new to tennis. Level 2 is recommended for 3rd-5th graders or youth that have a year or two of tennis experience. Level 3 is recommended for 6th-8th graders or youth that have 3 or more years of experience. Lessons include drills for the basic skills of forehand, backhand, volley, overhead, and serving as well as basic tennis strategies. Participants are responsible for providing their own tennis racket.
